Builders from every mainland state in Australia have won big prizes in the first phase of the COLORBOND® steel “Make the Right Choice and Win” competition.

Each winning builder received an $8000 home entertainment package from BHP Steel by selling roofing made from COLORBOND® steel.

The entertainment package includes a widescreen TV, DVD video player, Dolby digital receiver, active subwoofer, satellite speakers and speaker stands and a music voucher.

When their customers select a roof made from COLORBOND® steel for a newly-built home, both the builder and customer qualify to enter the COLORBOND® steel Make the Right Choice and Win competition.

Builder Highview Homes, specialising in period reproductions, received the prize in Victoria.

“All of our Victorian-style homes and all but one of our classic cottages range use steel roofing made from COLORBOND® steel, mostly in shades of red or slate grey,” said Highview Homes’ Terry Davies.

“COLORBOND® steel provides the look we are after and offers an unparalleled flexibility in colours.”

The Western Australian winner, Balcatta-based builder APG Homes, will be using roofing made from COLORBOND® steel in the colour Slate Grey on a customer’s beachside home in Scarborough - inspired by the colonial-style Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

In South Australia, regional transportable home building specialist Blue Lake Homes took the prize.

Caboolture-based Chris Smith Builders which specialises in colonial reproduction homes, won the $8000 home entertainment package in Queensland from BHP Steel.

A large number of builders Australia-wide have registered for the COLORBOND® steel Make the Right Choice and Win competition.

Builders can register to be a part of the promotion by filling out the official participating builder form.

New home buyers who choose building products made from COLORBOND® steel - including fencing, fascia and gutters, or building frames made from ZINCALUME® steel - receive additional entries into the competition.*

The competition is now into its second phase, which ends on March 31. A third phase will run from April 1 to June 30.

For each phase, both a consumer and builder in each mainland state will win an entertainment package.
