An
award-winning West Australian home builder has found success in a
niche market building country-style homes.
Cedar Homes Cabernet display home in Ellenbrook - one of the most
successful land development projects in Australia according to a WA
government report - recently won the Ellenbrook Housing Estate ' s
2002 Award for Country Housing Design.
Cedar Homes is based in the Perth suburb of Osborne Park and builds
within a 450 kilometre radius of its headquarters - from Geraldton
in the north to Albany in the south and Hyden in the east.
Each of the company ' s single and double-storey homes - suitable
for semi-rural or rural properties - is built with a roof made from
COLORBOND® steel or ZINCALUME steel.
Cedar Homes ' Daniel Paulsen said COLORBOND® steel was popular with
homebuyers because it provided a diverse colour range and a traditional
corrugated look that lasted.
BHP Steel recently expanded and improved this range of COLORBOND® steel
colours, unveiling a palette of 20 colours that employs advances in
super polyester pre-painted coating technology to keep roofing and
wall cladding looking new for longer.
Building its Cabernet country-style house for a customer in the town
of Denmark also produced another win for Cedar Homes, which took the
major prize in the second phase of the COLORBOND® steel " Make
the Right Choice and Win " competition.
The family-owned and run company won an $8000 home entertainment package
from BHP Steel simply by using roofing made from COLORBOND® steel on
the home.
The entertainment package includes a widescreen TV, DVD video player,
Dolby digital receiver, active subwoofer, satellite speakers and speaker
stands and a music voucher.
Builders can register to be a part of the COLORBOND® steel " Make
the Right Choice and Win " competition by filling out the official
participating builder form.
The builders ' prizes are linked to consumer prizes.
Buyers of new homes who choose building products made from COLORBOND®
steel - including fencing, fascia and gutters, or building frames
made from ZINCALUME steel - receive additional entries into the competition.*
The competition is now into its third and final phase, which ends
on June 30. At the end of the phase, both a consumer and builder in
Western Australia will win an entertainment package.
