| A leading homebuilder has unveiled one of the first display homes in Western Australia to use one of the newly-launched colours in the COLORBOND® steel range. Collier Homes utilised the expanded colour range and improved coating technology of COLORBOND® steel with the launch of a display home in the beachside suburb of Quinns, north of Perth. The Panorama uses a combination of materials and large expanses of glazing, specifically on the rear elevation, to provide uninterrupted views of the landscaped garden and pitched gazebo. COLORBOND® steel in the colour Jasper was used on the home ' s steeply pitched roof ,which was specifically designed to eliminate exposed steel fascia and gutters on the facade. " COLORBOND® steel was the ideal choice to complement the design and characteristics of the home, " said Collier Homes General Manager Darren Sandford. " The colour Jasper blends with the acrylic texture, natural limestone and black window treatments. " BlueScope Steel recently introduced six new colours into the COLORBOND® steel colour range, together with an advanced super polyester pre-painted coating technology. This super polyester pre-painted coating technology is key to this next generation colour range, according to BlueScope Steel chief technologist Garth Weston. " Super polyester technology has been under development for a considerable length of time, " he said. " We have had it on exposure testing in severe UV environments since 1997, and it has exhibited superior gloss and colour retention and in effect will look newer for longer. " The expanded palette of 20 COLORBOND® steel colours includes the six new colours - Jasper, Sandbank, Bushland, Blue Ridge, Plantation and Ironstone - and covers the complete tonal range of grey, green, blue, red and cream to suit all types of buildings. Each colour name is trademarked to distinguish COLORBOND® steel in the marketplace and to ensure confidence among customers that it is the genuine article.
